We’re looking for experienced and passionate coaches who want to leave their legacy on the game. With Bucks teams from U/12’s through to Seniors, there is plenty of opportunities for the right coaches to join our team in paid coaching roles.

David is a successful automotive industry owner with experience in new car franchises, wholesale distribution and auction houses. He has played top level football across three states – Penguin in Tasmania, Carlton in Victoria, and West Torrens in South Australia. In fact, David was the youngest player to pull on a Carlton VFL football club guernsey.
He has been a player manager and an on-air sports broadcaster for channels 7,9,10 and 2 as well as radio with 5AA. David was a pioneer of player management, working with the AFL players association to develop player agent rules and regulations.
Also, an accomplished number four batsman, David played district cricket with Essendon before transferring to Adelaide where he played his final days with the Hahndorf Cricket Club. The uncle of Australian one day cricket star, Clint McKay, David is a cricket and all-round sports tragic. He is passionate about providing junior pathways into sport, passionate about local communities and sharing his business and sporting expertise.
25 years’ experience in Banking and Finance. Last 6 years of this, as State ManagerSA, NT & northern WA & NSW & Chair SA State Leadership council leading & representing approximately 1000 staff and 20+ billion-dollar business. Currently, founded and runs own business-TurningPoint Career, Coaching & Consultancy. Focusing on assisting individuals and businesses be their best.
Gregg is an advisory board member for the Helix Group and Chairs the Helix Group Investment Advisory Board. He holds a Master of Business (MBA) and diploma in management & executive coaching.
He is a junior AFL & Cricket coach and a sport tragic across the globe. Married to Madeleine, he has 4 children – 2 girls and 2 boys.
Got got involved with APL because -Is a very passionate hills resident who loves the idea of a franchise that brings local talent, local businesses, and the hills communities together. This gives male and females hills cricketers the chance to showcase their talent.

Hannah Sampson
Took up playing cricket at 9 years old after falling in love with the game during a Boxing Day cricket match on her grandparents farm, represented NSW from u12s-u19s before pursuing other interests. An opportunity at 23 to play for the South Australian Scorpions was too good to pass up and Hannah moved to South Australia, representing the Scorpions and later the Adelaide Strikers in the inaugural season of wBBL. Passionate about creating sustainable pathways for female cricketers to play the game, Hannah has spent the past 5 years coaching at a SACA premier cricket level, where in season 21/22 was involved in three premierships with the Adelaide Cricket Club.
Hannah Douglas-Hill
Hannah has been living in the Adelaide hills for 13 years and before that was on Kangaroo Island. Hannah is currently involved with Aldgate cricket club and has coached the 16 & Under team for the past 2 years. She has a huge passion for coaching and cricket and she is currently working at the South Australian Cricket Association.
Hannah is really looking forward to be parting of the Bucks family and helping woman’s cricket grow in the Adelaide Hill.

TUCKS 2 LEAD THE BUCKS
The Adelaide Hills Bucks are delighted to announce Anthony “Tucks” Tucker as their inaugural senior mens and franchise coach.
Tucks is a highly respected and decorated cricketer and coach. He lives in the hills and is extremely passionate about developing and show casing the hills talent.
Anthony Tucker Started playing Cricket as an 8-year-old at primary school and played junior cricket at Walkerville and Prospect before moving to Scotch College and playing in the First XI. His senior career started at Old Scotch in the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association where he played for 22 years, the last two as playing-coach. He was a major factor in six premierships with Old Scotch in a successful period for the club. After leaving Scotch, Tucks played in the Hills Cricket Association with Stirling, and then had five years at Aldgate as senior coach where they won three premierships, including the ‘A’ grade title in 2018/19. For the past two season He has been senior coach at Noarlunga in the Great Southern Cricket Association.

The Adelaide Hills Bucks are delighted to announce Andrew Downton as senior franchise assistant coach for APL1.
A left arm medium fast bowler who played 33 Sheffield Shield games for Tasmania taking 102 wickets with best figures of 6/56. Also represented Tasmania in the 1 day format. A level 3 accredited coach, Andrew has a fantastic and diverse coaching record, having coached in Hobart, Sydney, Melbourne and Ireland. He has Coached Brighton and Lindisfarne to premiership success in Hobart and has been involved in 6 premierships at Wellington Cricket Club. Most recently he was assistant coach in BPL2 for the title winning Gold Coast Wave-riders.

The Bucks are delighted to announce Greg Ryan as our first ever U13’s coach. Learn a bit about Greg.
I played my first game of cricket in Yr 3 at the age of seven and played junior cricket at school and for Kensington District Cricket Club through to U16s. I then played 20 years for Old Ignatians in the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association where I was club captain and president as well as a premiership player. Since moving to the hills a few years ago, I have coached my twin sons at Aldgate Cricket Club through the U12s and last year we were awarded joint premiers in the U14s. I have also coached the Fleurieu and Districts U12 representative team in the SACA Country Cup. I love coaching juniors and am excited by the opportunity to coach the Bucks U13s in the inaugural Adelaide Premier League.

Andy Roberts
I played my junior cricket with Strathalbyn starting in u12’s then playing in premiership teams in u16s also represented association at u16s level and u21. Started my senior career at strath at 14 making A grade at age of 16 as an opening bowler and played on and off for 25yrs due to work commitments. More recently turned to coaching strath juniors from u12s through to u16s for the last 8 years, reaching u14s gf 2019/20, u16s premieres 20/21, gf 21/22. I enjoy coaching and watching my son and daughter who both play cricket for strath aswell as Jack playing premier cricket in adelaide. I am excited and look forward to the challenge of coaching our u16 bucks in this inaugural season.

Jamie Vickers
Throughout my junior career I have played cricket for Lenswood Rangers and the Woodside Warriors.
I have also competed in Association level cricket during this time.
I then played Senior level cricket for Lenswood as well as Hectorville Cricket Clubs and was lucky enough to be involved in Premierships for both teams during this time.
After moving back to the Adelaide Hills with my family I have been an Assistant Coach and then Coach for Woodside Warrior Junior Teams, where my U14’s team were Premiers for the 21/22 season.
Since moving back to the Adelaide Hills, I have enjoyed watching my son play cricket for both club and Representative teams and my daughter play both club and Representative Netball.
I’m looking forward to the challenge of being the inaugural coach of the Adelaide Hills Bucks U15’s!
David Bredenkamp
From a young age, cricket has been a big influence in shaping his character and physical development.
In 2019 he made debut for Mount Barker Cricket Club and relishing the opportunity to play with his oldest son in senior grade. The pinicle would be as Assistant Couch when the U/14 MBCC team reached the Grand final during the 21/22 season.
